What makes you tick?
I’m a firm believer that everyone has a hobby or passion for something.
You may not notice or realize it yet, and it may take until you’re 45 years old to discover it, but it’s there.
The question is: Do you want to find it?
Over the past few years, I’ve shifted my love for videography more and more toward still photography. I still love telling stories through motion, but my passion for taking pictures grows stronger by the day.
Everywhere I go and everything I look at, I think to myself: How would I capture that? How would I preserve what I see as a moment in time?
The other day, while driving to a photo shoot, I passed a house with a few older cars and trucks in the front yard.
I looked at the time and thought, “I have about 20 minutes to spare.”
So, I turned around, pulled into the driveway, rang the doorbell, and randomly asked if I could take some photos of their timeless vehicles.
I’ll be honest: I couldn’t tell you which models these classic cars were. If one hadn’t had Chevrolet written on it, I couldn’t have told you the manufacturer either.
But to me, that didn’t matter.
What I saw was the beauty of a machine you just don’t see very often these days. I knew someone might see the pictures I took, appreciate them, and perhaps be reminded of some forgotten memories.
These were cars that, just by looking at them, seemed to have unimaginable stories to tell.
The roads they must have traveled.
The people who once drove them.
The sound their engines must have made during their prime cruising days.
All these thoughts went through my head. So, for the next 20 minutes, I grabbed my gear and tried to preserve a moment in time.

Follow it.
Find your passion.
Start a hobby.
If you never start, you’ll never know.
