📸 ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls View | Kauai, Hawaii
📝 My Story
Another beautiful waterfall stop during our Kauai journey was ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls.
This is one of the island’s most easily accessible major waterfalls — no hiking required!
We simply pulled off into the parking lot, walked a few steps to the overlook, and were immediately rewarded with sweeping views of the 151-foot waterfall cascading down into a hidden pool surrounded by lush greenery.
The beauty and accessibility make it a must-visit if you're exploring the east side of Kauai.

💡 Pro Tip
Across the street, there's a path that leads to another beautiful view overlooking the Wailua River — don’t miss it while you're here!
📸 Photography Tip
Use a zoom lens or camera with optical zoom to get a tighter shot of the falls.
If you have a tripod, use a slower shutter speed for a dreamy "silky" waterfall effect — even from a distance!
🎉 Fun Fact
ʻŌpaekaʻa translates to “rolling shrimp” — a reference to the freshwater shrimp that were once abundant in the stream feeding the falls.
