📸 Cloud Column | Houston, Texas
📝 My Story
Before boarding the cruise, we had time to explore a few of Houston’s art and architecture gems — and Cloud Column was a must-see! Nicknamed Houston’s “bean” (it’s the sister of Chicago’s Cloud Gate), this massive stainless-steel sculpture was the perfect spot for fun reflection selfies, urban shots, and a little artistic sightseeing before we hit the ocean.

💡 Pro Tip
Bring a microfiber cloth to wipe smudges off the sculpture — it’s super reflective, and fingerprints show up easily in photos.
📸 Photography Tip
Use a wide-angle or ultrawide lens to capture the full sculpture, and experiment with symmetry and reflections for artistic shots. Night shots with surrounding lights can also be stunning!
🎉 Fun Fact
Cloud Column was created by Anish Kapoor, the same artist behind Chicago’s famous Cloud Gate (“The Bean”) — it was installed in Houston in 2018.
