📸 Roatán Cruise Port | Honduras

📝 My Story

This was the port where we kicked off one of our favorite days — the sloth and iguana excursions in Roatán, Honduras! As we stepped off the ship, the port itself was small but well-organized. It didn’t have the bustling energy or large shopping areas that some of the other cruise ports offered, but it was clean, easy to navigate, and clearly laid out for smooth transportation to your excursions.

It wasn’t long before we found our meeting spot and boarded our van to visit AJ’s Monkey & Sloth Sanctuary and Arch’s Iguana & Marine Park. Even though the port itself was simple, it served as the perfect launching point for one of the most fun and photo-filled days of the entire cruise.

📌 Quick Info

• 🏙️ City: Roatán, Honduras

• 🅿️ Parking: Not applicable — cruise port access only

• 🚻 Bathrooms: Yes, inside the port

• 🧭 Travel Tip: Be ready to head directly to your tour group — there aren’t many shops or shaded waiting areas

• 📸 Photographer’s Note: Most of your best shots will happen off-site during excursions, but the port sign makes for a great “We’re in Roatán!” snapshot

• 🛐 Etiquette: Local guides here are incredibly kind — don’t forget to tip if you had a great experience

• 🕰️ Best Time to Explore: Most people head straight to excursions, but mid-morning is quiet and easy for photo ops

• ♿ Accessibility: Mostly paved and level, but limited seating or waiting areas

💡 Pro Tip

Roatán’s port is smaller than others — so if you’re hoping to shop, snack, or browse, save that for your return or for other ports. But if you want a smooth, organized excursion check-in, this is one of the best!

📸 Photography Tip

Snap a quick photo at the Roatán welcome sign near the dock as you head out. Then save your camera battery — the real photo magic happens once you reach the sloths and iguanas!

🎉 Fun Fact

Roatán is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef system — the second-largest coral reef in the world!
