Go ahead, it won't hurt. Pay it Forward
Today, the doorbell rang.
Yup, the doorbell.
I haven’t heard that in a while...
Well, I probably would if I were home during the day when Amazon arrives. Nevertheless, it catches me off guard every time.
Usually, when it rings, it’s one of the neighborhood kids looking to play. Today, however, it was a father from a family for whom I have the utmost respect—and this interaction only confirmed my instincts about them.
He stopped by to bring me a package of delicious drinks, along with a few words of appreciation.
He simply wanted to thank me for all the times I had helped him with questions or problems involving his technology.
Not only did he think of me in the first place, but he also took time out of his busy schedule to buy something and personally deliver it as a reminder of why I do what I do.
It was old-school appreciation.
Extremely nice.
And honestly, the words alone would have been enough.
So, what can we do in our own lives for someone else?
What random act of kindness can we deliver?
What path will you walk down?
What bridge will you conquer?
You don’t need money. You don’t need a gift.
Sometimes acknowledgment and a few kind words are enough to keep that inner spark alive.
You never truly know what’s happening on the other side of the fence in someone else’s life.
So, why not pay it forward once in a while?
Think of someone else—a friend or even a stranger.
I can speak from personal experience: When you do, that kindness has a way of finding its way back to you.
Thanks for the delicious beverages and kind words, Tim.
They’re appreciated more than you know.
