📸 Ke‘anae Lookout | Road to Hana, Maui
📝 My Story:
During our Road to Hana adventure, one of the best stops we made was at Ke‘anae Lookout — a peaceful peninsula known for its rugged lava coastline and sweeping ocean views.
The Ke‘anae Peninsula feels like stepping into another era of Maui: quiet taro fields, a tiny old stone church, and black volcanic rock shores where the waves crash dramatically. 🌊
We stopped here for a break to stretch our legs, enjoy the scenery, and soak in some peaceful island vibes away from the tighter turns of the Hana Highway. It’s a must-stop spot if you’re doing the full drive!

🧭 Travel Tip: Bring some banana bread from Aunty Sandy’s stand nearby — it’s famous!

💡 Pro Tip:
Stop at Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread Stand — it’s right on the peninsula, legendary for a reason, and the perfect treat for your Road to Hana drive! 🍌
📸 Photography Tip:
Use a lower angle to emphasize the crashing waves against the black lava rocks.
If you visit during golden hour, the warm light really makes the landscape glow beautifully.
🎉 Fun Fact:
The Ke‘anae Peninsula was formed by lava flows from Haleakalā's eruptions centuries ago — the fertile volcanic soil made it one of the most productive taro-growing regions in Hawaii!
